Jackie has been in human services for more than a decade and started at Headway in July, 2010.  In her time at Headway, she has had the opportunity to advance from a Day Treatment Therapist to a Day Treatment Coordinator, and now is excited to be the Day Treatment Supervisor and bring encouragement and increase confidence in clients, staff and the others that she works with.   She collaborates with both the Headway clinicians and the school's teaching staff to help create positive change in our clients. “Most of the clients who come to Day Treatment have school avoidance issues and haven't enjoyed going to school in years,” she says. “When I hear from a parent who is so surprised and grateful that their child is attending school without the fighting, arguing, and bribing that was happening for years before Headway, I feel so proud of our organization.”

In her spare time, Jackie enjoys spending time with her family, especially at the lake in the summer months, and playing soccer and coaching in the fall.

Anne joined Headway as a therapist in May 2016. She worked previously as a Mental Health Worker Intern for Headway's Day Treatment program during the 2014-2015 academic school year and has worked in post-adoption since 2007. She is well versed in attachment and trauma, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions and techniques. "I am thrilled to be back at Headway. I hope to promote resilience and encourage connectivity with the teens and their support system," she says.

In her free time, Anne enjoys many things including, traveling, reading, meditating, swimming, volleyball, weekends at the cabin, and spending time with family, friends, and her two nieces.

Jenna joined Headway in May, 2016 and has worked in human services since 2010.  She completed her therapy internship with Headway in June, 2017, and started as a therapist in August, 2017.  She has worked with at-risk youth in a residential setting and children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in the past and she is excited to work with family systems and teens at Headway. "I hope to provide stability for clients so that they are able to transition into home, school, and social life outside of day treatment with foundation skills that help them to live long, fulfilling lives," she says.

Outside of work, Jenna enjoys playing slow-pitch softball, playing hockey,reading and crafting.

Nikole joined Headway in September, 2015 and has worked in human services since 2010.  She is experienced in working with children from infancy to young adulthood from diverse backgrounds, survivors of domestic violence, adults and families with child protection involvement, youth and adult survivors of prostitution and sex trafficking, and homeless youth.  She works as a therapist to support and promote safe and healthy changes for the children and families with whom she works.  She says that "every day brings on new challenges, and you never know how it will be gratifying.  Each day is something new, and that's what makes my job amazing!"

In her spare time, Nikole likes to go camping, travel, read, and spend time with family, especially at the family lake house.

Patrick joined Headway in August, 2016 and has worked in the human services field since 2015.  He completed his therapy internship with Headway in April, 2018 and started as a therapist in July, 2018. He previously completed an internship assessing patients with chronic illness at North Suburban Family Physicians in Roseville. He uses mindfulness-based and solution-focused therapy in session. "I love seeing my clients develop their skills and learn that they can tackle anything," he says.

In his spare time, Patrick enjoys exercising, doing crossword puzzles, watching MMA, and spending time with his large family.

Carissa has been with Headway since May, 2018 and has worked in human services since 2014. She has experience working with clients of all ages and has worked with developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance abuse. As a mental health worker intern in our adolescent day treatment program, she works to be someone our day treatment students can trust and talk to and check in with, and she enjoys getting to know the students and their different strengths.

In her spare time, Carissa enjoys being active or outside, going to the beach, rollerblading, hammocking, and riding her bike. She also enjoys listening to music or watching high intensity movies and TV shows.

Elizabeth has been with Headway since July, 2018 and has worked in human services for over 10 years. She has past experience working for a nonprofit youth ministry organization, as a doctor's assistant in two medical offices, and as a high school girl's volleyball coach. She has worked with all ranges of school-aged kids in both school and outdoor settings, and has over 15 years of experience mentoring and leading students in group settings and one-on-one. As a Mental Health Worker, she works in our Adolescent Day Treatment program with adolescents and their families. She leads skills groups to better equip the students in the program so that they may learn ways to cope with a variety of issues and learn to manage their behavior. "I am a positive role model in helping adolescents and their families discover their strengths and ways to cope with mental health issues effectively," she says.

Outside of work, Elizabeth loves spending time outdoors. She enjoys playing and coaching volleyball, reading and journaling, and hanging out with her husband and friends.

Before joining Headway in 2012, Kathleen was a teaching assistant for eight years and a preschool teacher at a non-profit daycare. In our Day Treatment Program she leads skills groups helping teens learn to cope with a variety of issues and manage their behavior. “I like being able to help teens learn how to deal with difficult issues and watch them grow to be healthy and happy kids,” she says.

Kathleen enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and playing disc golf in her spare time.

Amanda has been with Headway since September, 2018 and has worked in the human services field since 2013. She is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at St. Thomas University / St Catherine University, and also has experience as a social worker for Hennepin County Child Protection. As a mental health worker intern within our adolescent day treatment program, she has direct interaction with adolescent clients and their families. She engages with day treatment clients on a regular basis to ensure that they are having all of their needs met; she also checks in with clients when they need a break from the regular school day, and participates in daily community check-ins and group sessions.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys hanging out with her son and going to the zoo, going to movies, and traveling.

Ifemoa has been with Headway since August, 2018 and has worked in human services since 2016. She has past experience working as an assistant teacher, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Minnesota State University - Mankato. As a mental health worker intern within our adolescent day treatment program, she enjoys getting to know the students and teaching them the skills they need to overcome any difficulties they are facing. She advocates for the students and serves as a support for them, showing them that they can help and support each other. \"I say that I am the students support when they need me, and work to teach them skills to live a healthy life,\" she says.

When she is not working, Ifemoa enjoys watching her sister play basketball, watch Netflix and YouTube, and hang out with her goddaughter.

Jesma joined Headway in September, 2017 and has worked in the human services field since 2011. She is currently attending the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology and is working toward earning her PsyD in Clinical Psychology. She will be providing testing and assessments to the clients at Hopkins Day Treatment and it is her hope to “facilitate accurate diagnoses and treatment interventions to affect positive change to the clients I serve so they can successfully integrate into society,” she says.

Libby has been with Headway since September, 2018 and has worked in the human services field since 2013. She is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at the University of St. Thomas / Saint Catherine University, and has past experience as a program coordinator at other mental health organizations and has worked with adults with autism, adults with developmental disabilities, and adults with severe anxiety and depression. As an intern within our adolescent day treatment program, she works with adolescent clients and their families to help them be the best that they can be. She helps her clients learn to process emotions so that they may return to a traditional classroom environment and be successful there. "I help my clients find the balance between focus and fun," she says.

Outside of work, Libby enjoys camping, cats, and crafts.

Maranda has been with Headway since June, 2018 and has worked in human services since 2015. As an intern therapist in our adolescent day treatment program, she works with teen clients to help them become more comfortable and confident, as well as successful in the classroom. She creates an open and safe environment for teens to work on the barriers they face.

Outside of work, Maranda loves soccer and has played since she was a young girl. She currently plays on a soccer league in the Twin Cities. She also enjoys reading thriller and mystery novels.
