Ryan joined Headway in July, 2019 and has worked in the human services field since 2009. He has past experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in community mental health, an outpatient hospital, private practice, college counseling, wilderness therapy, psychiatric inpatient, and therapeutic day school in Minnesota and Illinois. His areas of focus include cultural responsiveness, trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and developmental disorders in addition to providing therapy and assessment. He has also been an adjunct instructor and guest lecturer in university settings. He works to create an inclusive environment for staff and clients in experiencing authenticity, where people feel heard and understood in making new paths for empowerment co-created together.

In his spare time, Ryan enjoys tending his patio garden and honing his skills as a baker. He also enjoys spending time with his three children and sharing in their joy and wonder of the world around them.

Lauren joined Headway in April, 2019 and has worked in the human services field since 2006. She is experienced in working with a wide range of client populations, including children, adolescents, and young adults in a variety of settings, a university counseling center, and educational settings. She has specialized expertise in conducting evaluations of individuals with neurodevelopmentally-based disorders such as ADHD, autism, intellectual disability, and learning disorders. As Training and Assessment Director, she enjoys the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and students to serve those in our community. "I believe in delivering compassionate, comprehensive, and high quality assessment services as an important first step in client services in order to shed light on the client profile and determine the best course of treatment," she says.

When she is not working, Lauren enjoys reading, knitting, and discovering new hiking trails with her boys and her dog, Leo.

Noureen joined Headway in September, 2013 as an outpatient therapist, and has worked in the human services field since 2008. She has experience working with clients who have a dual diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness and chemical dependency, domestic violence, sexual abuse/sexual assault victims, and other trauma issues. Her areas of focus include cultural responsiveness, trauma, dissociative identity disorder, depression, and anxiety, in addition to providing therapy and clinical supervision. Her clinical competencies include DBT, Sand Tray, EMDR, and AIRNet. As Managing Supervisor, Clinician Development, her role is to develop our providers so that they are able to provide support to clients in alignment with our mission of empowering people of all ages to live an emotionally healthy life. "My goal is to help clinicians incorporate authenticity in their work of walking with clients in their journey of transformation," she says.

Outside of work, Noureen enjoys spending time with her family. Her children remind her that we are all interconnected and that the work of each one of us is to create a world in which we want to live and raise our families.

Charlie has been in the addiction/mental health field for more than 35 years and with Headway since 2000. He works with all populations we serve: children ages 11-18, families, couples and adults, but his specialties include helping those suffering from addiction, sexual abuse and domestic violence. He has joined our Dialectical Behavioral Therapy team (DBT) and uses cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnosis as well. His goal is to help clients and colleagues bring their assets to every situation they encounter. “Families and individuals who can communicate effectively and master their emotions and thoughts can bring hope and healing to any circumstance,” he says.

Charlie is married and enjoys bird watching, tennis and volunteering in the community to help people affected by substance abuse.

Debbie joined Headway in 2012 after 12 years in the mental health field. As an outpatient therapist, she helps adolescents dealing with domestic violence, sexual abuse, overcoming trauma, forensic testing and therapy, court appointed witness, Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other mental health needs. “ I help individuals and families who are open and ready for therapeutic change in order to live and maintain a healthier lifestyle,” she says.

In her spare time, Debbie enjoys taking kickboxing and Zumba classes, traveling, attending concerts, musical theater, watching football, shopping, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Emma joined Headway in September, 2017 and has worked in the human services field since 2013. As an outpatient DBT therapist, she helps adolescents and their families who are struggling with self-harm, emotional dysregulation, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Additionally, Emma conducts psychological testing/evaluation services to assist in clarifying diagnosis and providing detailed recommendations. “I work with individuals and families that are struggling and help them discover new approaches and ways of interacting that transform their lives,” she says.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys cooking for herself and baking for others, as well as being cozy under a blanket with a fictional book and her dog at her feet.

Eowyn has been in the mental health field since 2001. She has held several positions with Headway, starting as an intern in the Vision program and has worked in a therapist postion since July, 2012.  As a therapist, she works with children, adolescents and adults to help them develop insight and overcome obstacles to their personal development.  She has experience with Adlerian Play Therapy and has training on incorporating the body into the healing process with trauma, such as using trauma informed yoga and yoga calm.  She also has past experience providing services to adults with SPMI.  "As a therapist I love getting to see clients grow and live fuller lives," she says.  "it is always an honor to be a part of someone's healing process."

Outside of work, Eowyn enjoys practicing yoga, gardening, and spending time with her friends and husband.  She is also a community faculty member at Metro State University and teaches Ethics and Diversity to Psychology majors.

Kiran joined Headway in September, 2019, and has worked in the human services field since 2014. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Psychology degree at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has worked with children and adolescents in two different therapeutic day schools with clients presenting emotional and behavioral difficulties, and has also worked in a college counseling center with both undergraduate and graduate students. As a pre-doctoral intern therapist, she provides individual and family therapy and conducts assessments with clients of all ages, and conducts a weekly DBT group with adolescents. "I provide my clients with a safe space where they can freely express themselves and can build a strong therapeutic relationship based upon trust and authenticity," she says.

Molly has been with Headway since June, 2018 and has worked in human services since 2016. She is QPR-model trained for suicide prevention, and utilizes mindfulness and CBT with many of her clients. Nicole received her Master’s in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School in May, 2014 and joined Headway in July, 2014. Prior to Headway, Nicole provided counseling for individuals, couples, and families at Pillsbury House Integrated Health Clinic. She also has experience facilitating equine assisted activities with groups for therapeutic purposes. She works with clients of all ages and incorporates techniques from experiential, cognitive behavioral, emotionally focused, and dialectical behavioral therapy in her practice. “I believe the therapeutic relationship is an integral part of therapy and I work collaboratively with clients to help them let go of that which doesn’t serve them and find strengths and solutions within themselves,” she says.

Sue has worked in social service agencies since 1995.  She has received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and is part of the DBT Consultation Team at Headway.  Her practice draws heavily from Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.  She enjoys working with clients of all ages and who present with a wide range of concerns.  “My work as a DBT therapist allows me to directly assist clients in learning important skills necessary to create a life worth living,” she says.  “I bring my professional expertise and compassion coupled with an empathetic style that allows clients to experience the comprehensive benefits therapy provides.  I collaborate with clients to guide them towards positive change.”

Outside of work, Sue is a member of a gourmet cooking club.  She enjoys crafting and sewing as well as spending time with family and friends.
